Behind the Wall

The Wall of Secrets made its stage debut at this month's Ilkley Literature Festival and performed to a packed fringe audience at Ilkley Playhouse.
When I say 'packed', I mean an audience turned up that included several people we didn't know. Which apparently is something of an achievement for fringe events.

The 'performance' was a series of readings based on actual secrets collected on this website and on the Wall of Secrets at Ilkley Playhouse as well as stories and writing inspired by secrets from the cast of Writers' Salts (pictured).

Our secret was that three of the five of us had never performed on stage before - a secret that probably wasn't so secret after two minutes in the spotlight!

We had grand plans to video the performance and podcast it and the like, but sadly there is no public record of our debut. So you'll just have to take it from us: we were simply brilliant, darlings! I'm ready for my close-up now...
